Professional profile

Riccardo Muliari graduated in Veterinary medicine at the University of Parma in 1990. He obtained his specialization in Hygiene and technology of meat in 1998 at the University of Milan. From 1994 to 1998 he served as a veterinary assistant at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale of Lazio and Tuscany (peripheral diagnostic laboratory of Latina e Frosinone). In 1998 he moved to IZSVe, at first at the peripheral diagnostic laboratory of Vicenza and, then, in Verona, where he still works and is head of the Official food control laboratory.

During his professional career, he gained significant experience in the microbiological safety of food and in that of the diagnosis of animal diseases. Since 2004, in addition, he has served as insurer quality at the peripheral diagnostic laboratory of Verona, a position that allowed him to explore various aspects related to quality assurance in laboratories for analysis and to the effective management of data resulting from the analytical process.

He has collaborated and still collaborates in several research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Health, regarding both the area of ​​food safety and of animal health.
