Professional profile

Marco Bregoli graduated in Veterinary medicine from the University of Milan and specialized in Hygiene and inspection of food of animal origin at the University of Turin. He worked at the Trento Lab of IZSVe during the period 2000-2006. He is currently working at the Udine Laboratory of IZSVe on control and eradication plans and wildlife surveillance.

His main research activities include serological diagnosis of domestic and wild mammal disease. He deals with ecology of wildlife diseases, focusing on paratuberculosis, sarcoptic mange, TBE (Tick Borne Encephalitis), pestiviruses and canine distemper virus.

He is involved in research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Health that include the ecology of zoonotic diseases in wild carnivores, food pathogens in cervids, and epidemiology of Hepatitis E in game mammals.
